Q!! wrote:Do a google search for them. They are the bullets used on the TV show "Best of the West". GREAT bullets. Supposedly they have the best coeffeciant(sp) of any bullet out there. They drop elk and crap at around 800 yards with em.

Re: My letter to David Petzal.. and his reply!
Stephen, how long a barrel, what's the rifling on it? A very good personal friend of mine is the head engineer for Nosler bullets. A quick call to him from me can probably point you in a pretty good direction, if not a custom recipie for a load. I know for a fact he shoots a .270, among other rounds.
As far as Petzal, I'm torn. I agree with him about 50% of the time anymore, and most of that is in regards to antique weapons not modern firearms and loads.

Here is what my brother shoots out of his .270 and he has killed about everything there is to kill in north america with em.
Barnes Triple Shock X Bullet in 150gr's. B.C. is .386. Recommended rate of twist for this bullet is 1:9.5 or faster. If your barrel has less twists go with the 140gr. There ya go, I am not Dave Petzal so take that info for what it's worth.

Barnes is a great bullet. That's pretty much the load I use to use on an old .270 of mine. Once my buddy went to work for Nosler I started using his bullets since I can get them for free now.

Nosler is good stuff. I have just been stuck on Barnes for a few years now.
Re: My letter to David Petzal.. and his reply!
I have NO idea what the twist and length of my barrel is....
I'm just gonna buy 3 boxes of ammo and see which one I like best... unless someone wants to handload me some sweet rounds!
