Bottom line is, I'd suggest you guys go to Apple's site and learn what the Mac OS has to offer. You'll be impressed.

If you can run a PC, you can run a Mac (and it's waaay easier) After all, who do you think Bill Gates stole the idea from to create Windows?

Hey, you don't have to sell me on them. I KNOW they are better. Just not sure if double the price is enough to make me buy one! I'll definitely look into them in time, but for now, I'll stick with my WIndows/MS JUNK. You guys suck - Page 2 824233

Well, like I said, how much are you actually spending in order to get Word and other apps so you can actually function. FWIW, if you spend $1300 on two laptops, you can buy a Mac laptop for $1100 that will last longer than the two you bought over the same period of time, ya know?

It's all what we're comfortable with.

Totally understand Stephen. Like I said. I KNOW the Macs are BETTER. When I'm in the market for a new computer. I'll look at them in a little more detail. Might even give you a call about it! Wink

Any questions, I'd be happy to answer. And no, I'm not a fanboy. Macs have weaknesses... they are just few and far between! I've worked on PCs as well, so I think I have a pretty good understanding of how both systems work.

Well, I had our salesrep up and running on a Mac in about 1 day... and prior to her buying her BlackBook, she had NEVER touched the Mac OS. Once you learn it, you'll wonder how you ever tolerated the Windows OS and it's screwiness.

If MACs had the same software option (IE CAD) & other softwares that you can load available to them, them perhaps they would be more popular, but damn S Gates made sure that would not happen.

State Oil recently switched to Macs. I never even thought about a Mac till I was in my wifes office playing with hers and damn are they cool. Makes my 3 month old Dell seem like a childs toy. Everybody at State Oil loves them, and they were not that hard to learn to use according to my wife.

Juan, Macs actually have most of the same software available as PCs... only when you get into some really specific stuff do you not have the same level of availability. One cool feature of a Mac is you can run both Mac OS and Windows on the same machine. if you have Windows loaded, you just pick what OS you want to launch when you start up... and it runs just like a PC. That way if you want to have a Mac but need to run CAD or whatever, you can do both.... pretty cool, actually!

Quinton, they are VERY easy to use. remember, Apple pretty much invented the Graphical User Interface. If anyone gives Apple half a chance, you'd never want to go back to a PC.

The whole "Macs are only ood for video and photo editing" is kind of the PC market's way of marginalizing Macs. The fact is, they do everything well. After all, how much does Excel really tax a computer's hardware?

especially in today's world where everyone uses their computer to save images, do home movies, make their own music, etc etc... It just solidifies how a Mac is a better choice. Go into an Apple store and play with one sometime.. you'll love it.

I am more concerned with CAD & CNC programming, if I cant use them for that, no good.
